Dayitva - Kumbh Mela 2019, Prayagraj
Ten MBA students of Kohinoor Business School (KBS), Mumbai went to Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj to study the secret behind the near flawless management of the Kumbh Mela.
The students conducted research on the modus operandi of the Kumbh Mela which is reportedly a management marvel. The study also focused on the intricacies of the near flawless colossal crowd management, unsurpassed anywhere in the world and the crowd control algorithm devised by IIT Madras. During their stay, the students' activities also included community service under their ongoing project “DAYITVA” in which they contributed to a free eye camp for the needy, 'NETRA KUMBH’ organised by an NGO.
The Kumbh Mela project, the first of its kind, has enriched and enhanced the strategy and management skills of students of KBS. The students have returned with their kitty filled with new techniques of strategy and management derived from this spectacular event. The students are in the process of compiling their learning and experiences in research document which will be presented to the other students of KBS and subsequently to the other students of management worldwide. This may also pave a way for a research platform and protocol for other aspiring management experts from any part of the world to study and understand this unbelievable exercise of crowd and resource management.
