As a part of a collaborative project between the Australia India Institute and the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), expert views were invited, through interviews, on vocational education and training, to explore possible areas for engagement of Australian Vocational Education Training providers in India. Dr. Svetlana Tatuskar, Director Kohinoor Business School, was among the experts who were interviewed and she shared her views on various aspects of long term and short term vocational training and skilling courses. The interview was conducted by Dr Smita Shukla, Director IQAC at University of Mumbai.
Some of the pertinent aspects covered in the interviews were thoughts on what were the high demand skilling courses in the state/district, scope for integration of technology in skill training, and opportunities for foreign training providers, to enhance engagement for Australian stakeholders in India.
The data collated by interviewing several experts in the area will provide a well-founded document giving insights to Foreign Vocational Education Training providers, who are paving their way in the country, to provide skilling programmes in India.
